Team

Shen’s Gymnastics Academy has dedicated and successful Girls, Boys, and XCel Gymnastics Teams. Our highly experienced coaching staff is dedicated to guiding the gymnasts through training and help them develop into strong, disciplined athletes both mentally and physically. All of our coaches are safety certified.

Boys Team

Shen's Gymnastics Academy has a dedicated and successful Boys Junior Olympic Team Program. These young athletes are selected by our coaches when they exhibit a passion for the sport combined with physical and mental aptitude. These boys train each week in order to compete in local, state, regional and national competitions.
The workouts consist of training, flexibility and strength, as well as mastering routines on all six boys' competitive events: floor, vault, rings, parallel bars, high bar, and pommel horse.

Girls JO Team

The goal of our Junior Olympic (J.O.) Program is to generate elite-level or collegiate athletes. To get to the elite/college level, gymnasts must pass through 10 levels.
Shen's begins this program at the Pre-Team level. This is a developmental program that focuses on preparing young gymnasts for competitive gymnastics.

Practices will improve the athlete's strength and flexibility, while learning the required skills and competitive routine on all 4 events: floor, vault, uneven parallel bars and balance beam.

Gymnasts are hand selected by our coaches. Qualifying for a gymnastics team is very exciting, but also involves a high-level of commitment and responsibility from both the gymnast and her family.

Please contact us if you would like to be evaluated for our team program.

Girls XCel Team

Xcel is a division of USA Gymnastics. Within the Xcel program, there are five different levels of competition—silver, gold, platinum, and diamond. The Xcel Program is designed to offer a broad-based, affordable competitive experience outside the traditional Jr. Olympic Program. Due to the lower number of practice hours, it allows gymnastics to find success in the sport of gymnastics while still participating in other activities. It is also a great stepping-stone to high school gymnastics.

Ages of Xcel gymnasts range from 8 years old to 16. To join the team, girls must be recommended by a coach; either from their gymnastics class, or from a separate coach evaluation.

Practices are geared towards learning skills and routines for competition. We train all four events - vault, bars, beam, and floor - and spend time on various conditioning and stretching exercises.

If you are interested in joining, please contact our gym for an assessment.

To reach your goals, you must grab on with both hands.

To be a gymnast, you must have the strength to hold on and the courage to let go.

Madison Kocian

You earn your trophies at practice.  You just pick them up at competitions.

If you’re afraid of failure, you don’t deserve success.
